This page explains how to delete your Desk FT account — the app published by Logic FT Inc. — and the data associated with it, what is removed, what we keep, and for how long. You can delete your account yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
Delete it yourself, inside the app
The fastest way is from within Desk FT. The option is in the same place whether you're a business owner (admin) or an invited client:
- Admins: open Settings (the gear icon in the top bar), scroll to the Danger zone, and tap Delete account.
- Clients: open the account sheet (your avatar in the top-right corner) and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by typing
DELETEin the dialog, then tap Delete account again.
Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no undo. You'll be signed out as soon as it completes.
Or ask us to delete it
If you can't sign in, or you'd rather we handle it, email [email protected] from the email address attached to your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask a question or two to confirm you own the account, then complete the deletion and confirm by reply. We respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your login and profile — your sign-in credentials, email, and any name supplied by Apple or Google.
- Every workspace you own and all of its contents — desks, branding, timeline posts, checklist items, form submissions, link entries, and welcome messages.
- All files you stored in those workspaces' Vault modules.
- Your device push-notification tokens.
What we keep (and why)
If you took part in a workspace owned by someone else — for example, you're a client whose accountant or coach invited you — the content you contributed to their workspace is not destroyed when you delete your account. Instead it is de-identified: files you uploaded and forms you submitted stay in that business owner's workspace, but they're unlinked from your name and identity.
This is deliberate: it stops the deletion of one person's account from wiping out another business's records (your tax documents shouldn't vanish from your accountant's files). Those workspace owners remain the controllers of the content in their own workspaces.
Retention & timing
- Live data — removed from our active systems within 30 days of deletion (usually immediately).
- Encrypted backups — routine backup snapshots may retain copies for up to 90 days before they roll off and are overwritten.
- Server logs — request metadata (timestamp, IP, path) follows our infrastructure provider's default retention, roughly 7 days.
Delete some data without closing your account
You don't have to delete your whole Desk FT account (published by Logic FT Inc.) to remove data. How depends on whether you own the workspace:
- If you're the workspace owner (admin): inside the app you can delete individual Vault files, an entire desk, or a whole workspace at any time — open the item, tap the menu, and choose Delete. Deleting a desk or workspace also removes everything inside it (timeline posts, checklist items, form submissions, link entries, and uploaded files).
- If you're an invited client: the workspace owner controls the content in their desks, so the app does not let you delete individual files there — and the owner may be legally required to retain some of it. To have specific documents removed, ask the business that invited you (the workspace owner). You can still delete your whole account at any time (see above).
- By email: write to [email protected] from the address attached to your account and tell us exactly what to remove. We confirm your identity, then either delete the data we control or, for content in someone else's workspace, help facilitate the request with its owner — within 30 days, usually sooner.
What's removed vs. kept: the specific items you delete are permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days; routine encrypted backups may retain copies for up to 90 days before rolling off. Your account, and any data you don't delete, stays intact. Content you contributed to a workspace owned by someone else stays in their workspace (they remain its controller) unless you ask them, or us, to remove it.
